When it’s time to update your will, you don’t have to start from scratch.
You can use a codicil, an addition or supplement that explains or modifies your existing will.
The codicil, to be valid, must be signed in the presence of witnesses, and the original placed with your other valuable papers. A copy can go to your lawyer and a copy to ADL.
All content on this Website, including the Codicil template, is provided for information purposes only. State laws apply to charitable gifts made through Wills and Codicils and are subject to change at any time. Neither the ADL nor the Anti-Defamation League Foundation are engaged in the provision of accounting, legal, tax, financial, or other advisory services; nor do they make any representations or warranties as to whether the forms provided comply with every law. Before executing the Codicil to your Will or any other documents, you should seek advice from qualified advisors and experts to determine if such documents align with your estate plans and applicable law. Once your final documents are executed, please provide a copy to the Anti-Defamation League Foundation.
